This nautical solid brass spyglass telescope has a scope length of 15.25" and is 1.50" in diameter.
The spyglass is handcrafted of solid brass and is wrapped in hand sewn red cowhide leather. Written on the smallest draw (sectional tube) is "LEON LAURENT, INSTRUMENTS, ACADEMIE DES SCIENCES, PARIS". The 4 draw telescope is housed in a handcrafted cedar box with the image of a Four Stack Ocean Liner, Compass Rose, part of Compass Card and on the opposite side two Seagulls flying over a seamen gazing through his spyglass.
Our spyglass also called Draw Telescopes is an exact reproduction of a 19th C. French instrument. This is a working spyglass telescope, just pull out all the way and focus by pushing and pulling the smallest sectional tube.
