This South Vietnam Fishing refugee boat model was specially designed & built by the plank on bulkhead method (joining multiple pieces of wood like pine and other local Southeast Asia woods together on the hull). The fishing boat showcases the vibrant colors of its journey a bright blue hull with yellow and red stained accents. The paint has been distressed adding an aging effect that adds an authentic touch, symbolizing the challenges faced at sea. The bottom is painted with brown bottom paint. The model has Tire fenders tied with rope, Jerry jug fuel tank, metal propeller, smoke stack, a metal steering wheel, and sandals laying on the deck. The fore deck has deck hatches (can not be opened) below them would be the fish hold, also a secret space inside the boat, where people could hide during their journey. Included is a solid wood base. The fishing boat model is built exactly to scale as an original South Vietnam fishing refugee boat (Tau Vuot Bien) was with many details. The task required skillful craftsmen many hours to accomplish.
