The Armillary dial sphere is a classic design made of solid brass with a bright annealed (heat-treatment) finish. The globe (earth) is positioned inside a mesh of brass hoops, symbolizing the course of the planets as known at the time and by zodiac signs & symbols. The course of the sun is shown by a wide band called the ecliptic circle. The interior of the armillary rotates.
