The Black Powder Barrels are handcrafted of hand turned cedar wood. Hand polished and finished with hand applied lettering saying "BLACK POWDER" and in red "DANGER". These desk organizers are for pens, scissors, pen-knives, coins, peanuts and whatever else catches your fancy. Included is a beautiful Twin Barrels Gift Bag made of canvas with a red top and pull cords, unusual and stylish.
Black powder was traditionally shipped and stored in barrels. This was at a time when guns were ‘primed’ with black powder, making bullets fly… Fun decor and a gift with a story. Hunters, champion marksmen… Enjoyable and always easy to find something to fill the barrel. Our Kegs are made for Keeping. Kegs or barrels were made by craftsmen called Coopers. Barrels were used for water, wine, black powder, dry goods, etc. Same as the vintage wood barrels our small ones are multi-use and come in sets of 2.
